Help
The questions people ask most when using Sohi. If yours isn't here, email us at the bottom of the page.
For guests
How do I join an event's album?
Point your phone's camera at the QR code the host shared, then type your name. You don't need to install the app or sign in: the album opens right in your browser. If Sohi is installed, the QR code opens straight in the app.
Until when can I add photos?
You can take photos or pick them from your library while the event is on, until the end of its last day (Vietnam time). After that the album is view-only. The host can also pause uploads at any time.
Why can I only see my own photos?
The host chose to let each guest see only their own photos. Yours still reach the host and co-hosts, who can always see the whole album.
How do I delete a photo I uploaded?
Open the photo in the album and tap delete. It's removed from the album for everyone. You can only delete photos you uploaded yourself.
If I switch phones or clear my browser data, are my photos lost?
No, they stay in the album. But guests don't sign in, so your account lives on your old device or browser. On a new one you'll join as a new guest and won't be able to delete your earlier photos. If you need one removed, ask the host.
Why can't I add more photos?
Usually it's one of these:
- The event has ended, or the host has paused uploads.
- The album has reached its plan's photo limit. Let the host know so they can upgrade.
- You've uploaded a lot in a short time. Wait a little and try again.
Are photos kept at full original quality?
Photos are resized and compressed on your phone before upload, so they upload quickly and use less data. They stay sharp on phones and computers, but they aren't the originals. Keep the originals on your phone if you need them.
For hosts
How do I create an event?
Download Sohi from the App Store or Google Play, sign in with Google or Apple, and create your event: title, date, venue and cover photo. Creating and managing events happens only in the app.
How do I invite guests to the album?
Open your event and tap the QR code icon. Save the QR image to print on tables, invitations or a welcome sign, or send the link over Zalo or Messenger. Anyone with the QR code or link can join, so share it only with your guests.
How do I add a co-host?
Open your event, tap the options button, choose “Hosts”, then “Get invite link”, copy the link and send it to them over Zalo or Messenger. They open it in the Sohi app and sign in with Google or Apple to accept. Each link works once, for 7 days.
Co-hosts see the whole album and manage the guest list and gifts. Only the host can renew storage, delete the event and add or remove co-hosts.
How do I pause uploads or keep photos private?
Open your event's options:
- Turn off uploads: guests can still view the album but can't add new photos.
- Choose “All photos” so every guest sees the whole album, or “Own photos” so each guest sees only theirs. You and your co-hosts always see every photo.
Can I delete photos guests upload?
Yes. The host and co-hosts can delete any photo in the album. Photos appear as soon as guests upload them, with no approval step.
How do I save photos to my phone?
In the app, open a photo and tap save to add it to your phone's photo library.
Who can see the event's guest list and gift ledger?
Only the host and co-hosts. Guests in the album never see the guest list or gift amounts.
Plans and storage
What's included in the Free plan?
Every new event starts on the Free plan: up to 20 photos, stored until 7 days after the event ends. The guest list and gift ledger aren't limited.
How do paid plans work?
Plans are bought per event, as a one-time payment through the App Store or Google Play, with no auto-renewal. Each photo plan has its own photo limit and includes 1 year of storage from the purchase date. After that you can extend a year at a time or buy lifetime storage. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
What happens when storage expires?
The event's photos are hidden from everyone, the host included. You have 30 days to extend and get them back. After those 30 days the photos are permanently deleted and can't be recovered; the guest list and gift ledger are kept.
How do I get a refund?
Apple and Google process payments, so refunds follow their policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com (iPhone) or under Payments & subscriptions in Google Play (Android).
Your account
What is the personal gift book?
A private place to note the weddings you've attended and what you gave, so you can look it up later. It needs sign-in, and only you can see it. Find it under Profile → Gift book.
How do I change my display name?
Go to Profile in the app and tap your name to edit it. The new name shows next to the photos you upload.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile in the app and choose delete account. This deletes your profile, gift book, the photos you uploaded and events you host (with all their photos), and can't be undone.
